Membership is open to any individual working in an organisation whose main activity of the provision of palliative care, and who fulfils the requirements of either of the two categories below.

Full membership
Is for an individual who is responsible for the management of the Day Care unit in a hospice or palliative care setting

Associate membership
Is for the second an subsequent individuals working for the same hospice as a full member.  This includes satellite services.

Only a full member of the Association has voting rights.
Full and Associate membership gives

  • Access to members’ only area of the website

  • Subsidised training events / courses

  • Annual conference at membership rates

  • Access to limited bursary fund

  • The members newsletter three times a year (by e-mail if appropriate

  • Opportunity to attend locality support groups

  • Access to 10 Benefit Leaflet, and Day Care Standards


1. The membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December.  Existing subscriptions are due for renewal during January each year
2. If a member forgets to renew at that time the full fee will be charged no matter at what point in the year membership is renewed, (but see note (3) below)
3. Membership benefits will cease on 31 March if existing members have not renewed
4. New members joining between 1 January and 30 September will pay 100% of the annual membership fee.  Between 1 October and 31 December any NEW member will receive complimentary membership, but will be asked to confirm membership in the following year
