Locality Groups were first set up so that ‘neighbouring’ Day Hospice leaders could meet and get to know and support each other throughout the year – and then of course would know people at Conference.
For those of us who currently do belong to an active Locality Group – we do know the benefits of and the necessity of having such a group. This is especially true in these changing times – with so many pressures and demands being thrust upon us. It is so important that we support each other, share good practice and between us start proving our worth.
Louise Furmston the APDCL committee member who is currently responsible for the Locality Groups writes………..
“The majority of Locality Groups are actively meeting twice or three times a year rotating the venues between the day-cares involved. Some also rotate the link person so that the work load is spread evenly amongst the members”
Louise then goes on to say……….
“I personally feel that Locality Groups are a venue for your voices to be heard and together we can continue in our work to raise the profile of our day care services”
